In the sixth grade, my assistant principal would have the entire assembly of students recite a definition of excuses in the auditorium. To this day, it remains drilled into my head. You can trust that I did not look the following definition up to share with you. "Excuses are the tools of the incompetent which build monuments of nothingness. Those who abide by them accomplish little or nothing at all." It seemed ridiculous at the time for an administrator to make regular practice of students reciting a definition to a single word. Reflecting back now, I see value in the ability to comprehend and recognize my own lack of accountability in order to strengethen my progression.
Do not hold yourself back from achieving your goals. It's as simple as being the greatness you wish to receive. Wake up every day with a clean slate. By the end of the day, it should be filled with a collection of investments into self. You are your greatest obstacle, but your greatest asset as well. Strive for the latter each day. No more excuses. The work you're putting in now determines your output in the future. There is no time like the present. You've got this!!
