While many of us indulge in seasonal festivities and become engulfed in celebration, others do not look forward to this time. Some holidays are only celebrated by certain cultures, religions, and groups that subscribe to the projected message. There are endless reasons one may not participate or share the holiday spirit that others do. A holiday may be marked by a traumatic event that previously occurred or feelings of loneliness may arise in a time where people are gathering. Whatever the case is, we can all do something to make this an easier time for the next person. We hear about volunteering to feed the homeless on Thanksgiving. This is one of millions of ways we can pay forward our gratitude for a time of year when spirits are generally lifted. Those who do enjoy this season should share the joy, so we can all develop a positive association. Spread the love.
